As a representational artist, it seems that everything I see is potential subject matter. What attracts me most is the quality of light falling across a surface creating interesting color and temperature patterns. I primarily work in oil, occasionally in watercolor, charcoal, and graphite. The medium of oil has remained the most exciting to me, probably because of its versatile and forgiving qualities. Generally, I try to convey calm in my work, whether the subject is a portrait, landscape, or still life.
